ITV chief executive Dame Carolyn McCall said ITV initiated the deal for Sky to buy its media and entertainment division. The agreement, struck in July, covers ITV’s terrestrial channels and ITVX but excludes ITV Studios. McCall said the deal remains subject to regulatory approval. If completed, ITV Studios would become a standalone listed global content business, while Sky and ITV would combine their streaming operations to create a platform focused on British viewers.
