AstraZeneca has invested $2bn (£1.5bn) in US pharmaceutical firm Summit Therapeutics as part of a research joint venture focused on the experimental cancer drug ivonescimab. The companies will study the medicine in combination with AstraZeneca’s sonesitatug vedotin, or Sone-Ve, with gastrointestinal cancer trials due to begin imminently. Each company will retain development and commercial rights to its own medicine and share the trial costs.
