Kargar, head of Iran’s Central Headquarters for Commemorating National and Sacred Defense and Resistance Occasions, made the remarks at a meeting with media representatives ahead of the 46th anniversary of Sacred Defense Week.
He said this year’s observances would be held under the slogan “Here I am, O Khamenei.”
Kargar also said the Foundation for Preservation of Sacred Defense and Resistance Values had completed a 10-year strategic plan that began in 2015. An assessment presented to the foundation’s board of trustees indicated that 93 percent of the plan’s objectives had been achieved, he said.
According to Kargar, the board of trustees has approved a new 20-year strategic plan for the foundation. The plan is scheduled to take effect at the beginning of 2026 and will serve as the foundation’s roadmap for promoting resistance culture and preserving the heritage of the Sacred Defense period.
He added that museums, memorials and educational centers across the country would be open to visitors during Sacred Defense Week. These include 46 memorial sites in former war zones, as well as memorials dedicated to unidentified soldiers, he said.
