Former Iranian ambassador Hossein Sadat-Meydani described the Islamabad memorandum as a legally significant framework and a potential foundation for easing the current standoff between Iran and the United States, in an interview with IRNA. He said any agreement should include mechanisms allowing Iran to respond directly to violations and argued that diplomatic commitments must be supported by national capabilities.
