Iran’s Atomic Energy Chief Calls Fusion a Future Energy Priority
Iranian Atomic Energy Organization chief Mohammad Eslami has called nuclear fusion a future energy priority and urged Iran to accelerate its national program. At a Government Week ceremony, officials presented three tokamak plasma-diagnostic systems and opened a non-destructive testing laboratory. Eslami emphasized domestic capabilities, university partnerships and knowledge-based companies, while Ali Norouzi said Iran had developed diagnostic systems for measuring the extreme conditions inside fusion plasma. The report provides no evidence that Iran has achieved commercial fusion power or net energy production.
