Russia seeks Iran’s experience in wartime emergency response

Russia’s emergency minister said Moscow wants to study Iran’s wartime crisis-management experience and proposed expanded cooperation, including joint training and infrastructure protection.
Russia’s emergency minister said Moscow is interested in sending a delegation to Tehran to learn from Iran’s experience in emergency relief, public services and protecting infrastructure during wartime, according to Iran’s IRNA news agency.
Alexander Kronkov made the remarks during a meeting with Iran’s Crisis Management Organization in Astrakhan, held alongside the Caspian 2026 international exercise. The two sides discussed expanding cooperation in disaster management, including firefighting, satellite and drone-based damage assessment, search and rescue, and joint training. Iranian officials also proposed developing a long-term bilateral framework for crisis-management cooperation.
