Tehran - IRNA reports that Khalil al-Hayya, head of Hamas's political bureau, warned that the humanitarian crisis in Gaza is worsening as winter approaches amid intensified Israeli attacks and the destruction of residential buildings. Hamas says Israel is blocking entry of heavy machinery needed to clear rubble and is preventing the arrival of aid caravans, tents, and other winter provisions, leaving tens of thousands without safe shelter. Al-Hayya urged mediators to press Israel to respect the first-stage terms, including an immediate, unrestricted entry of heavy equipment, relief supplies, shelter, and winter provisions. The report notes that the conflict began on October 7, 2023, and that Hamas announced reaching a deal to end the war and exchange prisoners on 17 Mehr 1404, with Israel announcing a ceasefire on 18 Mehr 1404. It also accuses Israel, with U.S. support, of genocide and describes the destruction of about 90% of Gaza's infrastructure, with the UN estimating rebuilding costs at around $70 billion.
