Iran’s embassy in Germany has criticized what it called the selective treatment of human rights by European countries in a video message shared on social media. The message referenced chemical attacks on Sardasht during the Iran-Iraq war and alleged involvement by some European companies in supplying materials and equipment for Saddam Hussein’s chemical-weapons program. It also cited an attack on a school in Minab that, according to the message, killed 168 people, including many female students. The embassy accused Western countries of “silence and complicity” over attacks on Iran and condemned what it described as the selective use of human-rights issues.
