Tehran — IRNA reports that wind energy in Iran is not merely about electricity production. Hashem Orouei, head of the Iran Wind Energy Association, says wind power can be the starting point for a broader energy-oriented industry, with benefits extending beyond the final product of electricity. He explains why Iran needs to develop the sector and has the capacity to do so. According to Orouei, implementing a two-phase program—five-year and ten-year—could transform the country into the region’s renewable energy hub. In addition to generating and exporting electricity, Iran could export wind-energy equipment and engineering services, bringing economic advancement.
