Card Factory’s revenue rose 5.3% to £260.8 million in the six months to July 31, helped by digital sales, the Funky Pigeon acquisition, new stores and growth in Ireland. However, like-for-like store sales fell 2%, the main stores business declined 0.7% and adjusted pre-tax profit slipped to £12.7 million. Recent UK like-for-like sales reportedly returned to growth, but it is too early to establish whether this represents a sustained recovery.
