An explosion at an army base in the Ayash area west of Deir ez-Zor in eastern Syria killed 11 people on Friday, Syria’s Defense Ministry said, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), cited by Iran’s IRNA. The ministry did not disclose the cause of the blast. A funeral ceremony for those killed was held in Deir ez-Zor on Saturday.
