Yemeni official says Saudi Arabia lacks information on downed F-15 pilots
The claim was made by Yemen’s Houthi-run prisoner affairs committee and reported by Iranian state news agency IRNA.
A Yemeni official claimed Saudi Arabia is using an intermediary to seek information about pilots from an F-15 that Yemen said it downed over Marib. The claims were reported by IRNA and have not been independently verified.
A Yemeni official said Saudi Arabia is seeking information through a third party about the fate of pilots from a Saudi F-15 fighter jet that Yemen said was shot down over Marib province several days ago. Abdulqader al-Murtada, head of the prisoner affairs committee in the Sana’a administration, said the lack of direct communication between Yemen and Saudi Arabia had prompted the use of an intermediary. Yemen’s armed forces previously claimed the aircraft was downed by a domestically made surface-to-air missile. The claims have not been independently verified.
