Serbia opens assembly plant for Israeli-designed drones

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić announced the opening of a plant for assembling Israeli-designed drones, saying it will employ about 100 workers and supply Serbia and other countries. He also said at least three additional factories are expected, while access to the facility was restricted because of production secrecy.

In a message posted on Instagram on Thursday, Vučić said the plant would assemble drones using what he described as “state-of-the-art technology.” The report was published by Iran’s IRNA, citing Reuters.
According to the report, the facility is expected to employ about 100 workers. Its drones will be supplied to the Serbian military and the armed forces of other countries, Vučić said.
He added that the Serbian government and its Israeli partners expect to establish at least three more factories in different parts of the country.
Journalists were not invited to visit the facility because the production process is classified. Vučić released only limited images of the site.
