Al-Mayadeen, via IRNA, reports that 318 ships passed safely through Bab al-Mandeb from Sept. 10–18, with Djibouti and Yemen officials affirming ongoing security and navigation guarantees.
A report attributed to Al-Mayadeen, with IRNA cited as the intermediary, quotes Yemen's Transport Minister Mohammed Qa'im saying the Bab al-Mandeb strait remains secure and that more than 318 ships passed safely between September 10 and 18. The same report notes that Djibouti's Foreign Minister Abd al-Qadir Hussein Omar told Al Jazeera that his country will continue to provide the necessary guarantees for free and safe navigation of ships and oil tankers through Bab al-Mandeb, with no disruption observed so far. In a separate statement, Yemen's Foreign Ministry in Sanaa said that, contrary to Saudi claims, navigation in Bab al-Mandeb is secure and there are no problems.
