Rosatom to Send Specialists to Iran for Bushehr Maintenance
Rosatom plans to increase its specialist team at Iran’s Bushehr nuclear plant to 150 people for scheduled maintenance and fuel-assembly replacement at the facility’s first unit.
Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev said specialists from the Russian state nuclear company will travel to Iran for scheduled maintenance at the first unit of the Bushehr nuclear power plant. According to IRNA, citing RIA Novosti, 47 specialists have already returned to the facility, with the number expected to rise to 150. The maintenance, including replacement of fuel assemblies, is scheduled to begin in mid-September. Likhachev said the plant’s current situation is calm and that fuel for the replacement work has been delivered.
