Ministry of Information: Three operational cells tied to terrorist groups dismantled
IRNA cites the ministry saying the cells, described as agents of the American-Zionist enemy, were killed or arrested in three provinces with help from citizen reports
The Iranian Ministry of Information, via IRNA, says three operational cells tied to terrorist groups, described as loyal to the American-Zionist enemy, were dismantled or arrested in three provinces with citizen reports and ongoing counterterrorism work. The cases include a planned assassination in Piranshahr, a sabotage plot thwarted in Alborz, and a two-person cell stopped in Kerman intending to blow a Bam infrastructure site.
Tehran - IRNA: The Ministry of Information said on Sunday that three operational cells affiliated with terrorist groups, described as agents of the American-Zionist enemy that sought to carry out assassinations and sabotage of economic infrastructure, have been killed or arrested in three provinces with the help of citizens’ reports and the silent efforts of the Imam Zaman Guards. The ministry’s public relations announced the following summaries of the cases:
1) An operative of a separatist terrorist group who was intent on assassinating a security commander in Piranshahr was eliminated in a preemptive operation by the Imam Zaman Guards in West Azerbaijan; the target was to be attacked but the operative was killed in a clash with security forces before execution of the mission.
2) In Alborz Province, a traitor loyal to the American-Zionist enemy, identified as AmirAli_N and acting under orders from the Monarchy-aligned network, was arrested as part of preemptive measures to prevent sabotage. This individual, guided by the group, had provided details about targets and locations of military facilities for the enemy and had plans that included destroying a Basij base, kidnapping and other provocative acts; intervention by the security forces prevented the attack.
3) In the Information Department of Kerman, a two-person cell identified as belonging to terrorist groups linked to the enemy was identified and, prior to any action, arrested by the central information authorities. The cell had been tasked by the umbrella group to blow up a critical infrastructure facility in Bam and to prepare for further armed and terrorist actions.
The ministry’s briefing notes that these preemptive actions prevented further attacks and underline ongoing counterterrorism efforts. The published report carries the timestamp 2026-09-20T10:09:33.000Z.
