Iranian official says US cannot evade responsibility over Minab school attack
An Iranian official cited a UN fact-finding report in accusing the United States of responsibility for the Minab school attack and saying it cannot evade accountability.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said the United States cannot avoid responsibility for attacks in Minab and Lamerd by withdrawing from the UN Human Rights Council. In a post on X, he described the incidents as apparent war crimes rather than operational errors. A UN independent fact-finding committee said it had reasonable grounds to believe US forces were responsible for the attack on Minab’s Shajareh Tayyebeh primary school, which it said killed 150 people, including 120 students. The committee classified the attack as indiscriminate and a war crime under international law.
