Iranian official says U.S. cannot evade responsibility for alleged war crime
Iranian official Kazem Gharibabadi cited a UN report on the Minab school attack and said the United States remains responsible.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said the United States cannot evade responsibility for the Minab and Lamerd attacks by withdrawing from the UN Human Rights Council. His remarks followed a UN independent fact-finding committee report that said there were reasonable grounds to believe U.S. forces were responsible for an attack on Minab’s Shajareh Tayyebeh elementary school, which killed 150 people, including 120 students. The committee classified the attack as a war crime under international law.
