TEHRAN — Iran’s ambassador to China, Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli, has called for the development of domestic artificial intelligence capabilities and expanded scientific and technological cooperation with China. In an opinion article for IRNA, he described AI as a major source of power and progress in the 21st century and said Iran should move beyond using the technology to contribute to research, innovation and governance. He also highlighted Iran’s reported membership in the World AI Cooperation Organization (WAICO) as an opportunity for greater participation in international discussions and exchanges. Fazli said cooperation with China could include joint research, knowledge transfer, workforce training and technology development.
