Iranian Envoy Calls for Greater Role in AI Development and Governance

Iran’s ambassador to China, Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli, has described artificial intelligence as a key source of power in the 21st century and called for expanded national capabilities, international participation in AI governance and deeper scientific cooperation with China. In an IRNA commentary, he said Iran’s membership in the World AI Cooperation Organization (WAICO) provides an opportunity for dialogue, knowledge exchange and collaboration on responsible AI development.
