Iran’s interests office in Cairo said a reported U.S. strike on a wedding gathering in Sirik killed or injured more than 70 people and called for international action.
The Office for the Protection of Iran’s Interests in Cairo has condemned what it described as a U.S. airstrike on a residential home during a wedding ceremony in Kuhestak, Sirik County, calling it a war crime and a violation of international law. In a statement published on Thursday, the office said more than 70 women, men and children were killed or injured. It called on the United Nations and the Security Council to take action and said Iran would pursue the case through diplomatic and legal channels.
