Iran nuclear chief says fusion project must not be neglected
Mohammad Eslami says Iran must accelerate its national fusion program and develop the technology independently.
Iran’s atomic energy chief called for faster progress on the country’s nuclear fusion program and announced related technology unveilings.
Iranian Atomic Energy Organization chief Mohammad Eslami said nuclear fusion—described by him as the energy of the future—must not be overlooked as developed countries invest in the field. Speaking at an event in Tehran, Eslami said Iran would advance its national fusion program by relying on domestic capabilities, universities and knowledge-based companies. The organization also unveiled plasma diagnostic systems for tokamaks and launched a non-destructive testing laboratory.
