Iran nuclear chief says fusion energy cannot be overlooked
Iran’s atomic energy chief called for faster progress on nuclear fusion and announced the unveiling of plasma-diagnostic systems and a testing laboratory.
Iran’s atomic energy chief, Mohammad Eslami, said the country must accelerate its national nuclear fusion program, describing fusion as a future energy source and urging Iran not to fall behind global research efforts. Speaking at an unveiling ceremony in Tehran, Eslami said the program would rely on domestic capabilities, universities and knowledge-based companies. Officials also unveiled three tokamak plasma-diagnostic systems and opened a non-destructive testing laboratory.
