Iranian Atomic Energy Organization chief Mohammad Eslami met with the family of former chief Fereydoun Abbasi and paid tribute to his contributions to the country’s nuclear sector.
Iranian Vice President and Atomic Energy Organization chief Mohammad Eslami met with the family of Fereydoun Abbasi at the late scientist’s home, according to IRNA. Eslami praised Abbasi’s scientific and managerial contributions to Iran’s nuclear sector and his role in advancing the country’s research and industrial capabilities. Abbasi’s family recalled his commitment to scientific progress, peaceful nuclear technology and national independence. Abbasi, a university professor and former head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization, was killed on June 13, 2025, during what Iranian authorities described as an Israeli attack on Iran.
