Amar Belani says Morocco-UAE-Israel ties threaten regional stability
Amar Belani criticized Morocco and the UAE’s relations with Israel, alleging that their growing trilateral cooperation could threaten Algeria and increase competition for influence in North Africa and the Sahel.
Former Algerian ambassador to Egypt Amar Belani has criticized Arab states’ normalization of relations with Israel, calling the move deeply regrettable amid what he described as ongoing genocide in Gaza and escalating violence against civilians in the West Bank. In a Facebook post, Belani also accused Morocco, the United Arab Emirates and Israel of building expanding diplomatic, economic, defense and security ties that could reshape North Africa and the Sahel. His claims were reported by Iran’s IRNA news agency.
