Political activist Tommy Robinson has appeared at Southwark Crown Court ahead of a trial over allegations that he harassed two MailOnline reporters and caused them to fear violence.
Robinson, 43, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, appeared in the dock on Friday. His trial is scheduled to take place at the same court on October 19.
He is charged with two counts of harassment causing fear of violence against reporters Andrew Young and Jacob Dirnhuber. The charges relate to activity on his X account between August 5 and August 7 2024, including posts, direct messages and an alleged telephone call.
Robinson is accused of calling Mr Young on August 5 2024 and telling him he would visit his house, allegedly saying: “I’m coming to get you”.
He is also accused of sending Mr Dirnhuber a direct message on X on the same day that allegedly said: “I’ll be knocking at your door”.
Wearing a dark blue suit and black tie, Robinson spoke only to confirm his name during Friday’s hearing. He had previously entered not guilty pleas to the charges in July last year.
The allegations have not been tested at trial. The trial is due to begin on October 19 at Southwark Crown Court.
