CNN: U.S. war with Iran has cost $45.1 billion so far
The estimate, attributed to a Pentagon report, excludes some repair and indirect costs.
CNN reported, citing the Pentagon, that the war with Iran had cost the U.S. $45.1 billion through September 3, excluding some repair and indirect expenses.
CNN, citing a Pentagon report to Congress, said the war with Iran had cost the United States $43.6 billion through September 3, plus $1.5 billion in additional fuel expenses. The $45.1 billion estimate does not include repairs to damaged bases or buildings and does not fully account for indirect costs. The Congressional Budget Office had previously estimated that the war could cost the U.S. about $2 billion to $3 billion per month after August 1.
