Global oil prices edge lower as gold posts slight weekly gain
Brent and WTI declined during Sept. 11–18 amid geopolitical and supply concerns
Brent and WTI prices fell slightly during Sept. 11–18, while gold futures gained marginally amid geopolitical tensions and U.S. rate-policy developments.
Global oil and gold markets fluctuated during the week ended Sept. 18 amid Middle East tensions, concerns over oil supply disruptions and U.S. monetary policy. Brent crude fell 0.71% to $103.87 a barrel, while WTI declined 0.52% to $99.53. Gold futures rose 0.16% to $4,415.90 an ounce, despite a stronger dollar and the Federal Reserve’s 0.25-percentage-point rate increase.
