Lt. Gen. Hatami: Any attack on Iran will face a decisive and regretful response

IRNA reports that Lt. Gen. Amir Hatami, Commander of the Iranian Army, declared that any attack on Iran would be met with a decisive and regretful response. He highlighted the continued unity, faith, and self-reliance of Iran’s people and armed forces, and reaffirmed readiness during Sacred Defense Week.
Tehran — IRNA: In a message marking Sacred Defense Week, Lt. Gen. Amir Hatami, Commander of the Iranian Army, said that even after years since Iran’s defense, the nation and its armed forces continue to demonstrate unity, cohesion, and readiness, building on the experiences of the sacred defense and the 12- and 40-day wars. He stated that any attack on Iran’s security and territorial integrity will be faced with a decisive and regretful response. The message notes that while modern wars differ in form from the defense era, they share a common truth: the Iranian people stood united against aggression, and the armed forces defended the nation with faith, experience, and domestic capabilities. He stressed that the defense era taught that reliance on faith, national will, unity, and public insight provides a solid foundation for security and power, and that today Iran’s armed forces, under the Supreme Leader’s guidance and with the support of the Iranian people, stand vigilant and ready to defend independence, security, and territorial integrity without hesitation. The commander also honored the memory of martyrs, veterans, and families of the fallen, and extended congratulations for Sacred Defense Week.
