Tehran-based IRNA reported, citing the Palestinian agency Shihab, that the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement issued a statement on Wednesday night welcoming an anti-Israeli operation carried out in the West Bank. The operation involved a car-ramming attack at a checkpoint near the village of Beit Awwar in the Ramallah area, and it was noted that the son of the Israeli ambassador to the United States was severely wounded in the incident. The movement also praised the executioner of the operation, identified as Mohammed Mahmoud Suleiman, a resident of Beit Awwar, and offered condolences for his death. The statement described the attacks as a natural response to what it described as ongoing crimes by the Israeli army, security forces, and Zionist groups against Palestinians.
