The Iraqi News Agency (WA) reported, citing the Iraqi Ministry of Oil, that Iraq's oil exports are currently 4 million barrels per day, while September's average export level stands at 2.6 million bpd. The ministry's statement follows remarks by Oil Minister Bassim Mohammed Khidir about sustaining oil production despite navigational challenges and the Strait of Hormuz crisis, and the need for solutions to potential export impacts. Khidir said Iraq is producing about 2.7 million barrels per day, with exports roughly half of that volume. He added that talks with Iran on allowing Iraqi oil exports are ongoing but not yet activated. He also noted that Iraq spends substantial sums on gas imports and has signed contracts with international companies to invest in gas.
