Iranian armed forces say they hold the initiative in the Strait of Hormuz and dismiss a U.S. claim as propaganda.
Tehran, IRNA reports that Sardar Abolfazl Shakarchi, senior spokesperson for Iran's armed forces, said the initiative in the Strait of Hormuz remains in Iran's hands. He criticized a CENTCOM claim about escorting tankers and removing one billion barrels of oil in two months, calling it a psychological operation aimed at strengthening the morale of the U.S. military in the region and justifying costly losses. He reiterated that Iran’s armed forces continue to hold the initiative in the Hormuz Strait.
