UN Human Rights Council session condemns US and Israeli strikes as war crimes

London — IRNA reports that at the United Nations Human Rights Council's 63rd session, U.S. and Israeli military strikes on civilian targets inside Iran, including sites in Lamard and Minab, were condemned as violations of international humanitarian law and as war crimes. Iran’s ambassador to the UN in Geneva, Ali Bahreini, who heads the fact-finding mission on Iran's human rights situation, told the council that Iranians have endured the consequences of what he described as war crimes and crimes against humanity by the United States and the Israeli regime, and called on the international community to condemn these acts, ensure accountability, and provide redress. He argued that external interference and unilateral sanctions have worsened domestic crises, while praising the resilience and unity of the Iranian people.
