Tehran, IRNA — Pakistani Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed described the US-led military aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran as “illegal and illegitimate,” calling it a “disastrous mistake” and one of the United States’ most significant foreign policy failures in decades. The remarks were given in an interview with the Center for Political and International Studies (IPIS). Syed underscored the long historical and cultural ties between Iran and Pakistan, arguing that developments involving Iran hold particular significance for Pakistan due to geographic proximity, longstanding political and economic links, and mutual interests in regional stability. He noted that Pakistan’s relations with the United States, China, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Afghanistan and other regional players shape its foreign policy calculations, placing Islamabad in a position to engage with multiple sides and potentially play a bridging role in regional diplomacy.
