IRNA cites Al-Mayadeen and Al-Arabiya on strikes in Hayfan and western Taiz; Yemeni armed forces say 28 airstrikes in 24 hours and 760 bombings since escalation
Saudi airstrikes hit Taiz province (three strikes in Hayfan, western Taiz fronts) with additional reports of telecom towers hit in Al-Jawf. Yemen’s armed forces claim 760 bombings by Saudi Arabia since escalation and 28 airstrikes in the last 24 hours, citing IRNA reports referencing Al-Mayadeen and Al-Arabiya.
Tehran – IRNA – Three Saudi airstrikes targeted areas in the Hayfan district in the southeast of Taiz province, in southwestern Yemen, according to IRNA citing Al-Mayadeen. Al-Arabiya also reported that Saudi warplanes struck fronts in Al-Sula and Al-Hukm in western Taiz. On Sunday, coalition jets reportedly bombed several telecommunications towers in the Al-Jawf province. A local source said towers in the Salba and Rahub areas of Barat al-Anan were hit, and another tower in Al-Marashi and one in Al-Zahir were targeted as well. Yemen’s armed forces spokesman Yahya Sari’ said that since escalation began, Saudi Arabia has bombed the country 760 times. He added that in the last 24 hours the air force, using F-15s and Typhoons from Khāmis Mushayt and Taif bases, carried out 28 airstrikes against Yemen, targeting Taiz, Al-Jawf and Ma’rib. The Yemeni side also noted recent gains along the western coast, including the port city of Mokha and several nearby islands, and said it would continue to respond to the siege by targeting Saudi oil facilities and military bases.
