Tehran — IRNA — Sardar Abolfazl Shakarchi, senior spokesperson for Iran's armed forces, said that the initiative in the Strait of Hormuz remains in the hands of Iran's powerful armed forces. Speaking on the night of Saturday, 28 Shahrivar 1405, he criticized the CENTCOM commander's claims about escorting tankers and the withdrawal of one billion barrels of oil over the past two months as not a reality, but a failed psychological operation meant to boost the morale of the wearied U.S. military in the region and to justify the exorbitant financial and human costs. He reaffirmed that the initiative in the Strait of Hormuz remains with Iran's armed forces.
