IRNA reports that Dr. Pezeshkian is set to travel to New York to attend the 81st UN General Assembly, with plans for meetings and a speech, while noting visa-denial issues affecting parts of the Iranian delegation.
Tehran – IRNA – The Public Relations Director of the President's Office announced that Dr. Pezeshkian will travel to New York tomorrow (Tuesday) to participate in the United Nations General Assembly. Habibollah Abbasi told IRNA in an exclusive interview on Monday, 30 Shahrivar 1405, that Dr. Pezeshkian would head to New York to attend the 81st UN General Assembly. The trip is described as including participation and a speech at the UN General Assembly, meetings with leaders and officials present at the gathering, meetings with Iranian scholars and expatriates in the United States, and discussions with elites and think tanks in the United States, among other activities. IRNA also notes that in what it calls an unprecedented action, Trump did not issue visas to some members of the Iranian delegation, including members of the president's media team. The 81st session of the UN General Assembly began on Tuesday, local time, at the UN headquarters in New York under the theme “Returning Trust.”
