Partial payment of fuel-station claims on an interim basis to begin tomorrow

IRNA reports that due to a six-month delay in approving the 1405 service fee, oil ministry subsidiaries will begin paying about 40% of the interim increase to fuel stations from tomorrow, while the final main increase awaits cabinet approval; the move followed a meeting with the fuel-stations association and government support.
Tehran — IRNA — The spokesman for the country’s fuel-stations association said that, given the six-month delay in approving and implementing the service fee for the year 1405, subsidiaries of the Ministry of Oil will, from tomorrow, provide a mechanism to settle part of the stations’ claims on an interim basis until the cabinet issues the main decree and announces the final amount. Reza Nawaz added that the necessary steps are being prepared in the government’s economic commissions to approve the service fee, and the main increase will be specified in the cabinet decree. He also noted that currently only about 40% of the increase will be paid on an interim basis to reduce financial pressure on station owners. The decision followed a meeting of the fuel-stations association with officials of the National Iranian Oil Distribution Company and with government and the Ministry of Oil’s support. Nawaz stressed that this is an interim measure and that the association will continue to pursue the final main increase and related matters in the commissions and the cabinet.
