Tehran, IRNA — The General Staff of the Armed Forces and the Central KHATAM al-Anbia base issued a Defense Week statement stressing that Iran's military, including the army, the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC), the Ministry of Defense, FARAJA (police), the Basij, and border guards, will not back down in defense of the nation’s interests and will deliver bitter defeats to the enemies of the United States, the Zionist regime, and their allies. The message recalls the eight-year Sacred Defense and the Iran-Iraq War as a period when the Iranian people resisted external pressure, attributing growth in defensive power to faith, indigenous knowledge, and self-reliant defense capabilities. It asserts that Iran has altered regional security dynamics in favor of the Islamic Ummah and the Iranian nation, citing control of the Hormuz Strait under Iranian arrangements and the diminishment of the so-called “Hollywood- and terrorist-backed” U.S. military.
