Hamas: Claims of Ceasefire Violations by Hamas Forces Baseless

IRNA reports Hamas rejects Israeli claims that Hamas violated the ceasefire, insisting it remains committed to the ceasefire while Israeli violations continue. Tehran-based IRNA reported that Hamas spokesman Hazem Qasem dismissed Israeli claims that Hamas forces violated the ceasefire as false and baseless, saying such assertions are meant to justify violations by the Israeli side and to escalate aggression. Qasem stressed that Hamas remains committed to the ceasefire, while noting that alleged violations by the occupiers continue. Israeli media had earlier reported an airstrike by Israeli jets in eastern Gaza City, with explosions heard in the area. The attack targeted a house in the eastern Al-Tafah neighborhood, injuring two people. The Israeli army spokesperson claimed that Hamas had violated the ceasefire by detonating this bomb, and that the army—described as the aggressor and violator of the ceasefire—then hit Hamas infrastructure. IRNA notes that Israel, with U.S. support, has waged war on Gaza since October 7, 2023, but after months of killing and destruction failed to achieve its goals of destroying Hamas or recovering hostages, and thus agreed to a ceasefire. Since the ceasefire, Israel has continued to breach parts of its terms and to aggression against the Gaza Strip.
