Araghchi: Washington must free itself from the Israel lobby’s chains

Tehran — IRNA — In response to a report in the Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi wrote on X that “the time has come for Washington to free itself from the chain and shackles of the Israel lobby.” IRNA’s foreign policy coverage notes that Araghchi posted a portion of a note from Israel Hayom, which is described as being owned by Miriam Adelson, stating: “The Israel lobby no longer hides its role and influence in US policy toward Iran. In a publication owned by Miriam Adelson, which serves as the lobby’s mouthpiece, it is explicitly stated that US policy should be such that for any disrespect or attack on Israel, the United States should also pay a price!” Araghchi added: “The time has come for Washington to free itself from these chains.” IRNA also cites Mark Dubowitz, director of the anti-Iran think tank Foundation for Defense of Democracies, who allegedly wrote in Israel Hayom that “the United States and Israel should deepen their military, technological, intelligence and economic alignment to the point that inflicting any financial harm on Israel would be costly for Washington.”
